AFM  Supervision

The Dutch Authority for the Financial Markets (AFM) acts as regulator of investment fund managers and custodians.

The European fund legislation leaves funds with two options:

  • For larger funds there is an extensive rule set, this is the Alternative Investment Fund Management Directive (AIFMD).
  • For funds like the Coeus Capital Diversified Currency Fund there is a more simple alternative: the Light Regime.

The Coeus Capital Diversified Currency Fund can be offered to investors under the Light Regime, in part because the Manager, Coeus Capital, targets investors who are able to participate with an initial amount of €100,000 or more per investor. Besides that, the Fund can only raise capital from investors up to a maximum in total of €100 million.

Light Regime Funds, like the Coeus Capital Diversified Currency Fund, are Registered by the AFM in the Netherlands.

An obligation for Light Regime funds is to show you the following warning:

Although there is no prospectus requirement for this activity, Coeus Capital has written an Information Memorandum none the less. Please locate the Information Memorandum under the button Fund Documentation.
